Sam Bickersteth has over 30 years of experience in international climate and sustainable development as an agricultural, natural resources and climate change adviser for DFID, Oxfam and Oxford University. As the CEO of the Climate and Development Knowledge Network, he supported the first generation of national climate strategies and the voice of developing countries in climate negotiations.

He has lived and worked in Asia, Africa and Latin America and is now focused on the political economy of climate action as an independent consultant with The Policy Practice. Sam is involved in political economy analysis and training across climate, humanitarian and development issues and is currently working on low carbon rice production systems, Congo Basin forest livelihoods and agricultural subsidy reform. He is a Trustee of Christian Aid and Windle Trust International.
