Ren Peng


Ren Peng is an expert in sustainable development and environmental governance, currently serving as Executive Director of the Evergreen Environmental Institute. He previously worked as Program Director at the Global Environmental Institute in China. With over two decades of experience across Southeast Asia, Africa, and South America, he focuses on policy innovation, stakeholder engagement, and technical systems to promote deforestation-free supply chains, ESG compliance, and green Belt and Road Initiatives.

 

He has co-authored publications including Environmental Protection Policies for Chinese Overseas Investments and Going Global: Environmental and Social Challenges of Chinese Overseas Investments, Trade, and Aid, and contributed to the development of China’s first guidelines for environmental cooperation in overseas economic activities. His work focuses on Chinese overseas investments, commodity governance, and climate diplomacy.

 

Ren Peng is a member of the Green Investment and Trade Professional Committee of the China Environmental Science Society and a supporting expert in the Green Value Chain Working Group of the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED). He also contributes to China Daily Observation Think Tank and the Wilson Center’s New Security Beat on green BRI and sustainable supply chains.
