Luanne Losi-Yawingu is a climate change adaptation specialist with over 20 years of experience in conservation NGOs, government agencies, and international development organizations. Her work focuses on resource management, environmental sustainability, climate change adaptation, and resilience.

 

She is currently the Climate Change and Disaster Resilience Manager for the Transport Sector Support Program (TSSP), where she implements the TSSP3 Climate Change and Disaster Resilience strategy. Her role includes integrating climate adaptation and risk management measures across sector programs in collaboration with the Government of Papua New Guinea.

 

In previous roles, she has conducted community consultations, stakeholder engagement, marine resource management, conservation, project management, policy development, and vulnerability assessments, and implemented climate adaptation initiatives. She contributed to the Adaptation chapter of Papua New Guinea’s Enhanced Nationally Determined Contributions report and managed the GIZ Adapting to Climate Change and Sustainable Energy project.

 

Luanne holds a master’s degree in Environmental Studies from Nagoya University in Japan. She is also president of the JICA-PNG Alumni Association, coordinating activities that strengthen ties between Papua New Guinea and Japan.
